Carrie Bennett is the author of biography of water (Washington Prize, The Word Works, 2005) and chapbooks A Quiet Winter (Dancing Girl press, 2012) and Animals in Pretty Cages (Dancing Girl press, 2013). Her poetry and fiction have been published in Boston Review, Caketrain, Denver Quarterly, Horse Less Review, Indiana Review, Interim, Prose-Poem Project, The Fairy Tale Review, among many others. After receiving her MFA in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she moved to Somerville, MA where she currently teaches writing seminars on theater and feminist performance theory at Boston University. In 2012 she was awarded a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship and was nominated twice for a Pushcart Prize.
